When you use services from Huurwoningen (electronically, such as via the internet) or contact Huurwoningen, the personal data you provide and use is recorded and processed. Huurwoningen is responsible for this data processing and handles it with care, maintaining the required confidentiality in accordance with applicable privacy laws and regulations.

If you start a premium account with Huurwoningen, your subscription agreement is archived by Huurwoningen. A copy of this subscription agreement is attached to your confirmation email for your premium account. Huurwoningen strives to anonymize your personal data as much as possible.

2. Purposes of Data Processing

The user data stored via the designated means on the website is collected by Huurwoningen with the intention to improve the website's service, as well as for administrative purposes, push services, and other services that may interest users of Huurwoningen.

Huurwoningen processes your personal data to:

  • Enter into and execute agreements related to the services provided by Huurwoningen and associated information;
  • Facilitate payment and (if applicable) billing, if a paid service such as a premium account is involved;

  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations relevant to Huurwoningen. Your personal data may be exchanged with or made available to all parts of Huurwoningen for the aforementioned purposes.

When using our services electronically, a basic account may automatically be created for you using personal data already provided by the User during a previous visit. You can choose to create an account yourself.

When you fill out a contact or registration form on the website, create an account, or email Huurwoningen, the data you send will be saved as long as needed per the nature of the form, account, or email for complete response and handling.

You guarantee that the personal data provided to Huurwoningen is correct and acknowledge that you are responsible for notifying changes in the data.

(i) share personal data with a specific service provider (landlord and agent) via a response or viewing request;

(ii) match with offers from various service providers (landlords and agents);

(iii) display in a public call for a rental property. Huurwoningen is considered a ‘data controller’ under GDPR upon receiving and forwarding these requests.


The service provider (landlord and agent) receives data from Huurwoningen about a home seeker when:

(i) the home seeker requests via a response or viewing request;

(ii) the home seeker makes a public call. The landlord can then decide to contact the home seeker. The landlord is considered a ‘data controller’ under GDPR upon receiving this data and contacting the home seeker.

4. Disclosure to Third Parties

Huurwoningen may provide your personal data to parties engaged by Huurwoningen to perform its services (e.g., rental or sales agents). Huurwoningen will use this data only for specific services you wish to use (e.g., assistance in finding a suitable rental or sales agent). If you indicate that you wish to use such services and allow Huurwoningen to provide data to third parties, Huurwoningen is not responsible for how these third parties handle the data.

Huurwoningen may, according to applicable laws and regulations, be required to provide specific personal data, e.g., in the context of an investigation. In such cases, Huurwoningen will only provide personal data if it is clear there is a legal obligation to do so.

5. External Service Providers and Other Websites

If you reach a third-party site or application via the Huurwoningen website, the terms and privacy rules of that partner or third party apply.

Huurwoningen will carefully determine how to handle an unexpected data breach in accordance with applicable regulations.

Huurwoningen’s liability for damages resulting from unlawful access to computers or files, viruses spread via advertisements, or other unlawful programs or files by third parties is excluded

7. Access, Correction, and Right to Object

If you have an account with Huurwoningen, you can request access to your personal data at any time without cost and have it removed or corrected if necessary. You can contact our customer service via info@huurwoningen.nl. Note that we may ask for additional information in some cases to properly verify your identity. You can also delete or correct your data online in your personal area (account).

You can object at any time to the use of your personal data for direct marketing purposes by sending an email to info@huurwoningen.nl. Huurwoningen will not retain personal data longer than necessary for the purposes mentioned above. The retention period depends on the purpose for which the personal data is processed. Once it is no longer necessary to retain the personal data, Huurwoningen will destroy it.

Huurwoningen reserves the right to amend this Privacy Statement. Changes will be published on the relevant website. Therefore, it is advisable to regularly review this privacy policy.
